Templeogue gain control by interval

Templeogue College made most of the running in this first-round tie at Kilternan

Templeogue College made most of the running in this first-round tie at Kilternan. Good ball retention and a well drilled back line enabled them to go into the break with a 24-0 lead.

The game was barely 10 minutes old when out-half Brendan Healy and Gerard Vickers combined to set up right wing Alan McPhilips to score in the corner.

There followed three more tries from Keith Douglas, Daragh O'Kelly and McPhillips with O'Kelly converting twice. Templeogue then stretched their lead shortly after the interval when second-row Niall Boland powered his way over for a try to which O'Kelly again added the points.
