Schools Rugby/Mount Temple 49; CBS New Ross 3: Mount Temple ended CBS New Ross's dream of a shock in the Leinster Schools Duff Junior Cup quarter-final at Athy yesterday.

Glen Predy pounced for the first of eight tries for the winners. New Ross centre Enda Doran then scored from a penalty before Predy, Shane Byrne and Hugh Gill crossed for tries for a 20-3 lead at the break.

Temple took control in the second half scoring further tries through Gill, Byrne, James Edwards and Paul Regazzoli.

The winners go on to a semi-final against St Fintan's High School next week, while New Ross play the Leinster Schools Junior Development final against St Mac Dara's Community College at Donnybrook on Friday week.
