St Patrick's await news of Flood's registration
ST PATRICK’S are confident of Anto Flood’s registration coming through in time to be named in their squad as they hope to lay the foundations for a repeat of last year’s success over the same opposition who are on form having won their last four games to sit fourth in Iceland’s top division
Similarly to St Patrick’s, they are also regarded as stronger than last year. “I know quite a bit about them from playing against them last year,” said St Patrick’s left-back Ian Bermingham on the 2-1 aggregate win last summer. “They are a big, physical team, but they like to keep the ball as well. It will be a test for us.”
An ankle injury to Chris Forrester sees manager Liam Buckley forced into a change on the right side of his attack. John Russell returns in central midfield having missed last Friday’s win over Shelbourne with a calf injury.
“I think it’s going to be tight,” said Buckley. “I don’t mind whether we win away or win at home – just as long as we get through the tie. We’ll see how the first leg pans out with a view to addressing the second game.”
