Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna was hoping to complete a move to Manchester United although he would be content to stay at the Primera Liga side.

"I really hope they can agree a deal so that I can leave for Manchester," Senna told reporters today. "But if it doesn't happen I will not be upset if I have to stay at Villarreal.

"I'm not worried because I've got a year's contract left with Villarreal and whatever happens with Manchester United I will be fine."

Villarreal said this week they had been approached by United and would sanction the move if the English Premier League side made a good enough offer for the 30-year-old central midfielder.
