Tottenham have appealed to the English FA over Robbie Keane's red card for handball in the Premiership win over Bolton at White Hart Lane.
Keane was furious with referee Graham Poll after yesterday's dismissal for handling Ivan Campo's header on the line.
The ball struck the chest of the Republic of Ireland striker before appearing to hit his arm as it dropped, and Poll issued a straight red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
Keane's red card marked the end an action-packed cameo from Spurs' stand-in skipper.
He scored two goals and also set up Jermaine Jenas before receiving his marching orders in the 36th minute.
Although Gary Speed scored from the spot following Keane's handball, Spurs went on to win 4-1, with Aaron Lennon netting in stoppage-time.
Keane would be suspended for one match, the Premiership clash against West Ham next Sunday, if the appeal is rejected by FA officials.
"It's always easy in hindsight," said Spurs boss Martin Jol after the win. "If you win games it's not a problem. He said he chested it."
