Darren Bent was given his full Tottenham debut as boss Martin Jol fielded three of his four frontline forwards against Everton.

Bent was in attack with Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane as Spurs looked to bounce back from defeat to Sunderland on the opening day of the Premier League season.

They were still without their first-choice centre-backs Michael Dawson and Ledley King, and Teemu Tainio was missing after suffering a knock at the Stadium of Light.

Everton were unchanged from the side which defeated Wigan 2-1 on the opening day of the campaign.
