Soccer:Three managers and three players make up the nominations for this year's Airtricity/Soccer Writers' Association of Ireland personality of the year award.

Sligo Rovers manager Paul Cook, who won last year’s award, is nominated again after the Bit O’Red retained their FAI Cup crown, while also finishing second in the Premier Division behind Shamrock Rovers.

Outgoing Hoops manager Michael O’Neill is nominated for that performance and for leading the Tallaght club into the Europa League, the first time an Irish side reached the group stages of a European competition.

The managerial nominations are completed by Cork City boss Tommy Dunne, who oversaw Cork City’s First Division success. The Rebels also reached the EA Sports Cup final but lost 1-0 to Derry City.

Derry City striker Eamon Zayed, Shamrock Rovers defender Pat Sullivan and Sligo Rovers midfielder Joseph Ndo are also nominated.

The goalkeeper of the year award nominations are Sligo’s Brendan Clarke, Derry City’s Gerard Doherty and Gary Rogers of St Patrick’s Athletic.

SWAI personality of the year nominees:Paul Cook (Sligo Rovers), Tommy Dunne (Cork City), Joseph Ndo (Sligo Rovers), Michael O'Neill (Shamrock Rovers), Pat Sullivan (Shamrock Rovers), Eamon Zayed (Derry City).

SWAI goalkeeper of the year nominees:Brendan Clarke (Sligo Rovers), Gerard Doherty (Derry City), Gary Rogers (St Patrick's Athletic).

The awards will be presented on Friday January 13th
