Shelbourne officials and supporters face another agonising weekend sweating over their club as the future of the league champions won't now be decided until Monday.

The struggling club today furnished the FAI's club licensing department with the additional information sought by the First Instance Committee in relation to its financial affairs.

Yesterday the Drumcondra club successfully secured an extension to an earlier deadline and had until lunch-time today to produce what was requested of them.

Shelbourne hope to secure a deal which will allow it pay off considerable debts outstanding to former players and the Revenue.

The club must convince licensing officials that it can secure finances to meet those debts and also that accounts submitted last year to secure a playing licence for the coming season were accurate.

Possible relegation to the First Division or a points deduction are among the punishments awaiting Shelbourne if FAI officials deem the club not to have its shop in order.

Indeed, a sanction in some guise appears inevitable.

But those finances should be secured once a deal is finalised to sell the Tolka Park lease to developer and Irish Sports Council chair Ossie Kilkenny.  No word of that potential deal was forthcoming today.

The FAI's First Instance Committee will mull over their findings before revealing on Monday what sanctions, if any,  Shelbourne will face.
