Uefa Cup semi-final review:Werder Bremen will face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Uefa Cup final after both sides overcame league rivals in the second legs of their semi-finals.

Shakhtar reached their first ever Uefa Cup final after an 88th-minute winner sealed a 3-2 aggregate win over Dynamo Kiev.

Strikes from Brazilians Jadson and Ilsinho either side of a reply from Ismael Bangoura sealed the win over Shakhtar's domestic rivals, whom they trail by 12 points in the Ukrainian Superliga.

Bremen trailed by a goal to nil after their home defeat in the first leg and when Ivica Olic extended the aggregate lead after 12 minutes this evening they looked dead and buried.

They returned fire, however, with strikes from Diego and Claudio Pizarro to edge ahead on away goals, before captain Frank Baumann added a third for the visitors seven minutes from time.

Olic got his third of the semi-final four minutes later to ensure a frantic finish, in which Hamburg had a penalty claim correctly denied, but it was all too late for Martin Jol’s side.
