Setanta wins for Sligo and Dundalk

Setanta Cup review: Sligo Rovers cruised to a 5-0 aggregate Setanta Cup win over Portadown with a two-goal away victory.

Daryl Horgan struck before the break for the League of Ireland side and Joey Ndo was on target from 20-yards in the 75th minute.

Dundalk also won away at Solitude but they had to come from behind against Cliftonville after George McMullen pounced on Colin Hawkins’s clearance to open the scoring.

Mark Quigley levelled matters in the 48th minute with the first of two long range efforts and the visitors had the lead with 17 minutes to go when Jack Duffin was beaten way too easily by Daniel Kearns’s shot.

Nine minutes later Quigley sealed the win with a 20-yard strike after a one-two with Jason Byrne.
