Shamrock Rovers dug deep and struck twice in the last five minutes to keep the Premier Division title race alive with a 4-2 win over Dundalk at Oriel Park.

Chris Turner and Alex Williams twice drew the homeside level after Shane Robinson and Darragh Maguire put Rovers ahead, with the second equaliser coming just nine minutes from the death.

With a Patrick Madden brace having all but secured the three points for league leaders Bohemians against Galway United at Terryland Park, Rovers needed something and it came from hit-man Gary Twigg with five minutes remaining.

Just in case Dundalk found another leveller from somewhere, Dessie Baker hit the net in injury time to get Rovers back to winning ways and keep them within a point of Bohs with two games to go.
