Champions League round-up: Nacho Novo came off the bench to rescue a disappointing Rangers side and give them a 1-0 first-leg lead over Crvena Zvezda in their Champions League third qualifying round clash.

Rangers struggled to keep possession all night and did not get a single effort on goal in the first half.

Red Star continued to frustrate the Gers but Novo latched on to an Allan McGregor kick to slot home an unlikely last-minute winner.

Elsewhere, Lazio's hopes of reaching the group stage suffered a setback when Dinamo Bucharest held them to a 1-1 draw in Rome.

Ionel Danciulescu climbed above the Serie A side's defence and headed the visitors into the lead in the 22nd minute.

Lazio surged forward and created a series of good chances, but Bogdan Lobont kept the Romanian title-holder's sheet clean with some fine saves.

The former Fiorentina keeper denied Lazio again in the 38th minute when he pushed away a Tommaso Rocchi penalty, which was conceded for handball by Dinamo defender Stefan Radu.

Massimo Mutarelli gave the home side a deserved equaliser eight minutes after the break when he headed home a Lorenzo De Silvestri cross.

Lazio finished the game with nine men after Valon Behrami was sent off for a dangerous two-footed challenge. Mutarelli received a second yellow card while Dinamo's Lucian Goian got a red card for a second bookable offence in injury time.
