Limerick destroy Drogheda to make it four wins in five

Battle for survival gathers pace after brilliant first-half display

Drogheda United 1 Limerick 4

A scintillating first-half display from Limerick saw them record their fourth win in five away to relegation-threatened Drogheda United as they continue to fight for their Premier Division survival.

Things couldn't have started any better for Martin Russell's side as they were 3-0 up within 13 minutes. Vinny Faherty opened the scoring on five minutes with an unstoppable header. Then Ian Turner converted what was a contentious penalty.

Three minutes later Turner turned provider as he crossed and Darragh Rainsford timed his run to meet the ball and flick a headed shot into the top corner.
