Soccer:Real Madrid swept aside Olympique Lyon 4-0, a third consecutive victory leaving them clear at the top of Champions League Group D. Goals by Karim Benzema, Sami Khedira, Mesut Ozil and Sergio Ramos made sure Jose Mourinho's side had an easy day at the office.
Inter Milan finally found something to cheer about when Giampaolo Pazzini’s first-half goal gave them a 1-0 win at Lille and top spot in Champions League Group B. Pazzini volleyed home in the 21st minute to put Inter, who are 17th in Serie A after a terrible start to the season, on six points from three games.
They lead CSKA Moscow, who beat Trabzonspor 3-0 earlier on the night, by one point, with the Turks and Russians on four and French champions Lille bottom on two points.
A slick move finished off by Bruno Cesar and an Oscar Cardozo free kick gave Benfica a 2-0 win at C Basel, their second successive away win in Champions League Group C. Brazilian Bruno Cesar side-footed home in the 20th minute and Paraguay striker Cardozo, who had only been on the pitch for a few minutes rifled in a free kick for the second in the 75th minute.
Benfica top the group with seven points from three games while Basel, who held Manchester United 3-3 away in their previous match, remained stuck on four after their first loss, a point behind the English champions.
