Soccer:Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt is ready to commit his long-term future to the club by signing a new deal at Anfield. The Dutchman still has two years to run on his current contract, but says he hopes to agree an extension "very soon".
The Holland international believes the future is bright for Liverpool and he wants to be a part of it.
"Liverpool is a club that should be playing for trophies and I guarantee that will happen soon," said Kuyt. "With Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll arriving, we have become stronger and I have a strong suspicion that the club will reinforce again in the summer.
"This helps my belief that we will be playing for trophies again next season.
"I want to stay because the club is showing ambition, the team is getting stronger and my family and I absolutely love it here. I hope I will sign my contract very soon."
Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Real Sociedad's highly-rated Spanish winger Xabi Prieto, according to the player's agent Miguel Angel Cermeno.
Prieto, 27, is one of the key members that helped Sociedad win promotion to La Liga last season and his performances have drawn admiring glances from Anfield.
Cermeno has claimed that scouts from the Anfield outfit have been present at a number of games, although he is yet to hear from the Reds.
"No one has been in contact with me yet, although it is true that they (Liverpool) are interested and there have been a few Liverpool scouts watching him at various games," Cermeno said in Marca.
Reports suggest Liverpool would be prepared to pay around €11.5 million for Prieto. The wideman has represented Spain at Under-21 level, but has yet to be capped by the senior side.
