The Republic of Ireland will play both Ecuador and Bolivia in the United States in May. Although the games have long been mooted - and indeed confirmed by both opposition associations in recent months - confirmation from the FAI was only given today.
Steve Staunton's men will play Ecuador at Giants Stadium in New York on Wednesday, May 23rd and face Bolivia three days later, on May 26th at Gillette Stadium in Boston.
Kick-off times for the two matches have yet to be announced.
"I am delighted to secure these two friendlies and both teams will provide us with an excellent test," said Staunton who is busy preparing his team for Wednesday's European qualifier against San Marino.
"It is also a great opportunity to get the lads together before the summer break and it is nice to give our many US based fans a chance to see the team in action," said Staunton.
The Republic of Ireland's only previous meeting with Ecuador was in 1972 at the Brazil International Cup when the Irish won 3-2.
Ireland have beaten Bolivia in both their previous meetings, the most recent being the 1996 US Cup game where Mick McCarthy's side won 3-0.
An American tour was one of many end-of-season options under consideration by the Staunton and Merrion Square officials. A training camp in Portugal, similar to last year, was also a possibility.
Ireland's other confirmed friendly for 2007 is a game away to Denmark on August 22nd.
