SPL Review:Hearts' problems intensified with a 1-1 draw at home to Dunfermline which severely dents their already slim hopes of mounting a challenge for the Scottish Premier League title.

Steven Pressley, Craig Gordon and Paul Hartley kept their places after revealing "significant unrest" in the dressing room and Jim Hamilton's controversial leveller just after the break added to the gloom.

Andrius Velicka had given Hearts an early lead but Hamilton bundled home amid claims of handball and the home side struggled to find any rhythm to create a winner.

They are now seven points behind leaders Celtic.

Elsewhere, Rangers' poor league form returned as they were held 1-1 by Motherwell at Ibrox.

Kris Boyd grabbed a first-half opener but the visitors were back on level terms shortly after the break through Brian Kerr and they held on for a share of the points.

A superb UEFA Cup win over Livorno, as well as last week's victory at St Mirren, appear to have been a false dawn for a team clearly still struggling to find their best form.

St Mirren battled from a goal down to grab a point against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Love Street, the third game of the day to end 1-1.

Caley striker Craig Dargo fired the visitors into an interval lead with a 34th-minute strike.

But the Paisley side fought back in the second half and deservedly grabbed an equaliser in the 65th minute when John Sutton headed home a Simon Lappin corner.

At the bottom of the table, Dundee United player-manager Craig Brewster's job was in serious jeopardy after his side were humiliated 5-1 by a rampant Falkirk, inspired by hat-trick hero Anthony Stokes.

With the axe hanging precariously over the Tannadice boss, his team crumbled under the pressure, allowing Russell Latapy and Stokes to grab first-half goals.

Stokes then doubled his personal tally before Noel Hunt was sent off in the 67th minute.

And, although substitute Collin Samuel pulled a goal back, Mark Twaddle and a late Stokes penalty completed the rout.
