West Ham 0 Tottenham 2:Second half goals from Ledley King and Jamie O'Hara wrapped up a 2-0 win for Spurs on Harry Redknapp's return to Upton Park. The win sends Spurs to 15th in the Barclays Premier League, just ahead of their hosts who are heading in altogether the wrong direction under new manager Gianfranco Zola.

The Hammers faithful are all to familiar with the Redknapp effect, having enjoyed their best Premier League form under the guidance of the Londoner, but he is working his magic in the north of the city these days and, despite hiccups against Everton and Fulham, his side are most certainly in the ascendancy.

West Ham have now won just once in their last 10 league but they could have got something from this game had it not been for a fantastic double save - first from Lucas Neill and then from David Di Michele - from under-fire goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Spurs held the narrowest of margins at that stage, thanks to King's 68th minute strike, but they sealed the win with just a minute to spare when a rapid counter-attack ended with substitute O'Hara smashing a left-foot shot past Robert Green.

King turned the focus on his team-mates after his first goal in three years set Spurs.

"I didn't really catch it cleanly but sometimes they're the ones that go in for you," King said on Setanta Sports. "I'm just pleased with the efforts the lads put in, it was must-win coming here.

"It's not important for me to score, it's the team, the three points. I'm just happy with a full team performance. Even the players that came off the bench came in and did well."

The England defender also had praise for Gomes, whose form since he arrived has led to some fierce criticism.

"The lads are fully behind him and he's pulled out some great saves for us all season," King said. "Tonight he's saved us again."

Jonathan Woodgate hailed the win as Spurs' best effort of the season, but warned that their relegation worries are not over yet.

"This was a must-win game," he said. "It's another point over West Ham which was vital. It was a thoroughly deserved victory - that was the best we've played all season, we were resolute."

He added: "We're still in the relegation battle, there's only three points between us and 17th. Hopefully we can climb the table but first we've got to get ourselves out of the position we're in."
