Two late goals from Galway United denied Drogheda a victory that would have sent them 11 points clear at the top of the eircom Premier League.
Drogs looked sure to take the points when they took a 2-0 lead with just five minutes remaining but 10 man Galway refused to give up.
A man down after Stephen O'Flynn dismissal in the 37th minute, and two goals down thanks to goals from James Keddy in the 73rd minute and Eamonn Zayed in the 85th, Galway looked dead and buried.
That was until Derek O'Brien and Alan Murphy found the net in the 87th and 90th minute respectively to leave the Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic with some hope of catching the Drogs.
