Bohemians 3 St Patricks 0:Bohemians are within striking distance of the Eircom League of Ireland Premier Division title after a convincing three-goal win against St Patrick's Athletic at Dalymount Park tonight.

The Inchicore outfit were second, 13 points behind the gypsies before the game, and tonight was their last realistic chance of challenging their Dublin neighbours.

But a stunning opener from Mark Rossiter early in the second half and further strikes by Glen Crowe and Jason Byrne after St Patrick's were reduced to ten-men after just 28 minutes effectively ended the title race as a contest.

The home side could even afford the luxury of a penalty miss tonight and with eight games play, Pat Fenlon's team are now 16 points clear at the top of the table.

Cork City 1 Derry City 1:Meanwhile the chasing pair, Cork City and Derry City could only manage a draw at Turner's Cross. An 87th-minute strike by Derry sub Thomas Stewart cancelled out Darragh Ryan's 65th minute header.

While the Leesiders will be disappointed to have conceded so late in the game, they will have an opportunity to salvage something from a disastrous season - and have the opportunity to avenge tonight's result - when they meet the Candystripes FAI Ford Cup quarter-final on Saturday evening.
