Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo insists there are no offers on the table for star striker Fernando Torres.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo insists there are no offers on the table for star striker Fernando Torres.

Some of Europe's biggest clubs have been linked with Torres and Liverpool are said to the tracking the Spanish international of late.

But Cerezo claimed today they had received no approach from Liverpool or any other side for their club captain.

"We have had no offer from Liverpool for Torres," he said. "He is on his holiday and resting.

"All the players have a (buy-out) clause in their contract and in that case we would not be able to do anything, but I repeat that there has been nothing about Torres from any team.

"We are now working to create a good team for the coming year."

Torres (23) scored 14 league goals in 36 starts this season as Atletico finished seventh in La Liga.
