Shamrock Rovers effectively won the First Division title last night following their 4-0 victory over Finn Harps at Tolka Park.
Rovers are now three points ahead of Dundalk with one series of games remaining, but their vastly superior goal difference means the title is all but secured.
Andy Myler's first-half strike last night was followed by second-half goals from Derek Pender, Tadhg Purcell and David Cassidy.
In the Premier Division, UCD finished off their season in style with a 3-1 win over Longford Town at Belfield Park.
Inspired by two goals from teenage striker Conor Sammon, the students moved into sixth place in the Premier Division.
Longford got off to a great start when defender Alan Murphy crossed from the right on two minutes for Dessie Baker to finish from close range giving home goalkeeper Darren Quigley no chance.
The striker almost had a second goal when Dave Mooney and Stephen Gough combined cleverly on the right to set up the chance only for Baker to slice his volley wide of the target.
UCD were level on 14 minutes when an Alan McNally pass enabled Patrick Kavanagh to skip past two defenders and shoot left-footed from 20 yards into the corner of the net courtesy of a deflection by Dean Fitzgerald.
College grabbed the lead on 55 minutes when a long ball from Conor Kenna was missed by defender Stephen Paisley and Sammon was able to round goalkeeper Kelly and slide the ball home from a narrow angle.
Then Sammon netted his second goal of the night as he touched home from close range in the last minute after good work by substitute Fran Moran.
