Gowran Park has traditionally hosted the eve of Tramore festival looking to catch punters on their way south. Dermot Weld's three-year-olds have been winning their share of races and All To Easy is a confident nap selection in the Greenvale Fillies Maiden this evening when running for only the second time this year.
Weld had selected what looked to be an ambitious Listed Race in which All To Easy could make her seasonal debut. This was the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown and she finished fifth to Caramobola.
This was a credible run given that she met with interference and that the two fillies who finished just in front of her were Polaire and Dazzling Park. Polaire subsequently won the Pretty Polly Stakes while Dazzling Park was third in the Irish 1,000.
After Kilcash Castle had won his first race, a winners' bumper on the second last day of the Galway festival, Aidan O'Brien said that he would be trained for next year's Cheltenham Festival Bumper.
Given that he lost ground at the start and that Tom Magnier did not have to ride him out at the finish, he did win in the style of a smart young horse. Although Keltech Warrior was a well held second, he still finished 6 lb ahead of a quartet of previous winners and can be almost guaranteed not to come up against a similar rival in today's bumper.
After Aidan O'Brien, the next most successful trainer of two-year-olds in the current campaign is his sister-in-law Frances Crowley. Amongst her winners has been Neutron who at a difference of a stone might just be too good for the top weight La Rosetta in the Life's Full of Surprises Nursery.
Muskeeter was far from impressive in landing the odds in a Fairyhouse maiden last week but in handicap class had looked one of the unluckiest losers of the week in Galway. He should be able to turn the tables on Royal Barathea in the Siucra Ireland Challenge Handicap.
