Galway and Tipperary will have to meet again to decide the destination of the All-Ireland Vocational Schools hurling title, following this exciting draw at Cusack Park, Ennis yesterday.

A share of the spoils was a fair result after a final which produced some excellent passages of play.

A hat-trick of goals in five minutes from corner forward Michael Cordial gave Tipperary a comfortable lead after 20 minutes but Galway stormed back in the last six minutes of the half when they scored 1-3 without reply to be just two points adrift at the half-time break. Tipperary edged in front again in the mid part of the second half and looked to be heading for the title when they opened a fourpoint gap with five minutes of the match left. Galway then moved midfielder Richard Murray to centre forward and this proved decisive as he scored 1-2 inside three minutes to haul his team back to level terms.
