The popular Woodbrook Scratch Cup will be back on the golfing calendar next month. Since last played in 1994 the course has undergone major changes with the introduction of 18 sand based greens and tees. Reconstructed under the direction of Peter McEvoy, the course has been lengthened to 6,956 yards. The present course record is 69, and is held by Woodbrook member, John Toner. This year's Scratch Cup, which will be sponsored by Esat Digifone, will be held on May 9th and Jim Geraghty, the last winner in 1994, will be hoping for a repeat performance. Previous winners of the Woodbrook Cup include Des and Val Smyth, Tom Craddock, Martin O'Brien, Mick Morris, Liam McNamara, Peter Lawrie and Gary McNeill.
