It took a 69th minute penalty from prop Geoff Brookes to force a replay in a superb Vinnie Murray Senior Cup semi-final at Donnybrook yesterday.

St Gerard’s outhalf Marc Baker and Castleknock hooker James Gibney each scored a brace of tries as the former led 17-10 at the interval.

It looked as though the holders had edged it when their scrumhalf Tom Foley slipped through in the 65th minute.

There was little left on the clock when Castleknock pressure yielded a penalty which prop Geoff Brookes converted.
