Harry Redknapp will learn shortly whether he faces a misconduct charge from the English FA for his comments after Queens Park Rangers’ defeat to West Bromwich Albion on St Stephen’s Day.
Redknapp had suggested the assistant referee “should go to Specsavers” after QPR’s 2-1 home defeat.
He has responded to the governing body’s request for an explanation.
Roberto Mancini has been granted extra time to give an explanation about the remarks the Manchester City manager made after his team’s loss at Sunderland on the same day, when he said the referee Kevin Friend “maybe ate too much for Christmas”.
Mancini and City said that they needed the extension because of the busy festive programme. Mancini has until Friday to give his observations.
