Katie Taylor – Boxing

Taylor’s pre-Olympic run came crashing down in Turkey and Kazakhstan. Her failed bid to qualify for Rio at the first attempt in Samsun, when she fell to a decision to Azeri southpaw Yana Alekseevna, was a shock to the sport. When she was defeated by French boxer Estelle Mossely defending her world title questions started to flow about the air of invincibility she had for so long. She isn’t panicking, although for the first time the 30-year-old will travel to a major event with questions to answer about a lightweight division she has totally dominated for more than a decade.
