Tom O'Brien became the conditional jockey to partner the most winners in a season when guiding Lincoln's Inn to victory yesterday in the Entertain Clients At Warwick Racecourse Maiden Hurdle.

The 19-year-old moved onto the 92-winner mark as the Philip Hobbs-trained 3 to 1 shot bounded clear on the run to the line to collect by three and a half lengths from Onefourfun.

Hobbs said: "Tom has been with me for three years and has been a great addition to the team.

"He is improving all of the time and with him and Richard (Johnson) in the yard it is never a problem sending good horses to two meetings as there is always someone to ride.

"Tom's uncle is Aidan O'Brien so he has always been around good horses and Aidan and Tom's dad have been great influences."

Of Lincoln's Inn, Hobbs added: "The horse is a chaser for next season and Tom said the better ground was a help to him."

Meanwhile, Jockey Warren Marston was handed a 28-day ban and trainer John Spearing fined £5,000 over the running and riding of Rajeh in the Banbury Novices' Hurdle.

The stewards ruled the horse had been tenderly ridden in the straight and having heard evidence from the pair, viewed recordings of the race, and taken into account observations from the vet and the handicapper, the stewards found them in breach of the rules of racing.

They suspended Marston for 28 days (March 31st-April 29th), fined Spearing £5,000 and banned the horse from running in any race for 40 days from March 23rd.
