Kenny Dalglish is considering legal action for wrongful dismissal after he was finally axed by Celtic

Kenny Dalglish is considering legal action for wrongful dismissal after he was finally axed by Celtic. Earlier this week he met with the club's chief executive Allan MacDonald and contracts manager Jim Hone to discuss a pay-off.

He made it clear that he thought he could stay in his post but indicated he would accept a fee to go. Celtic are thought to have offered only half the amount he suggested.

Dalglish told the Daily Record: "I feel empty. They have announced this without telling me. I am going to speak to my solicitor. The most important thing now is for Kenny Dalglish to look after Kenny Dalglish."

He said he would not join the "mudslinging which is so often part of the club. I will try to continue to conduct myself with dignity and in a proper way. But I believe I could work with (new manager) Martin O'Neill."
