Racing Sunday's previews - Curragh and Listowel: The Group Three CL Weld Park Stakes might be the prestige pot at the Curragh tomorrow but the €200,000 Foal Levy Stakes trumps it for money and Favourite Nation can trump the rest to scoop the winner's share.
The highly-regarded Dermot Weld-trained colt drops back from a couple of Tipperary runs over seven furlongs but the second of those indicated the shorter trip will not be a problem.
Favourite Nation put six lengths between himself and Caparo and the third (Faasel) and the seventh (Acropolis) have won since.
That sort of latent class will be needed against last weekend's Listed scorer Colossus and possibly even more so against Richard Hannon's Chinsola.
Hannon was critical of the ride this one got when beaten by Kinnaird at Ascot and that winner has gone on to score in the Group Three May Hill. After that Chinsola was only fourth in the Solario but an earlier seven-length success at Ascot indicates this one will be a big player.
Hannon's turn can come earlier in the Park Stakes. Richard Hughes rode Voile when the turns beat her in a Listed race at Leopardstown and he now rides the course winner Venturi for David Wachman.
However a change of luck could be all that Voile needs as after Leopardstown she managed to run third in the Princess Margaret despite a slow start and having to round the field to make her challenge.
The form of that race ties in with the Moyglare-winner Necklace who had Misty Heights back in fourth in that Group One. Dermot Weld will be keen to win the race named after his father but Voile may be the value.
There will be plenty interest in the opener as Amalie Bay has a second start in first time blinkers. The headgear is no surprise as the colt threw away a winning chance at Tralee by trying to pull himself up. The experience should make a big difference to him tomorrow.
Multazem is 3lbs better off with Mkuzi for the less than a length he was beaten at Leopardstown and any rain to soften the going could tip the balance in his favour in the Diamond Stakes.
At the final day of Listowel Wednesday's Kerry National runner-up River Cora can gain much deserved compensation in the Dawn Milk Handicap Chase.
