St Paul's College... 17 Gorey CC..

St Paul's College ... 17 Gorey CC ... 6A spirited Gorey CC side were beaten by a resilient St Paul's College at Dr Hickey Park in Greystones yesterday. In a typical schoolboys cup tie play was at times scrappy and a little loose, but the sheer passion and determination displayed by both sides will be prove inspirational.

Gorey, playing for the first time in this stage of the competition, took the game to St Paul's straight from the kick-off. They had the benefit of the strong wind, and knew they had to score points before half-time if they were to be upset their opponents.

On 19 minutes Tomás Kinsella opened the scoring for Gorey with a 30-yard penalty.

This jolted St Paul's into action, and three minutes later after some fine work on the left they scored a try through Alan Nangle, converted by captain Conor Keegan.
