Meath were quickly out of the traps at Navan on Saturday and points from Colm Coyle and John McDermott in the opening two minutes set the trend in this mismatch. McDermott shot the first goal after 19 minutes and it was 1-9 to 0-4 at the break.

The winning margin could have a bit bigger but for a string of fine saves by Antrim goalkeeper Donard Shannon. The impressive Ray McGee blasted in Meath's second goal 19 minutes into the second half. Antrim wing back Anthony Finnegan scored his side's goal just afterwards.
