Despite trailing for most of game, an extra time pointed free from Ciarán McManus gave Offaly victory in an entertaining challenge match to mark the re-opening of the Bornacoola GAA park near Dromod in Leitrim yesterday.
Leitrim, led by their top scorer Ollie Maguire, deservedly by 0-8 to 0-6 at the break but McManus, who was the man of the match with nine points, levelled shortly after the break and then won the match with that late free.
