DAVID Matthews's return to form was confirmed in an impressive 800 metres run at a meeting at Belenzona in Switzerland.

In finishing third to Muhammed Yagbou of Sudan, the UCD athlete recorded a time of one minute 45.19 seconds, the second fastest of his career and just a third of a second outside his career best figures.
