RACING:MASTER MINDED'S racing career could be over after he suffered a tendon injury in the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton.
The dual Queen Mother Champion Chase winner was stepping up to three miles for the first time in the St Stephen’s Day feature, but was pulled up by Daryl Jacob.
Trainer Paul Nicholls and owner Clive Smith had enjoyed a superb performance by Kauto Star as he secured a historic fifth win in the race.
Nicholls said of Master Minded: “He’s been struck into and damaged a tendon. He’s been taken straight to the vets in Newmarket.
“We thought it was life-threatening at first but thankfully it’s not that, though it could be career-threatening.”
