Tommy Lynch's future as manager of Waterford United hangs in the balance today as the board of directors of the club meet to discuss the crisis after Saturday's humiliating defeat at the Carlisle Grounds.

"I'm lost for words. We're going backwards at a rapid rate," said a dejected Lynch.

Two goals in the space of two minutes at the start of the secondhalf ended the game as a contest and put Bray well on their way to a record Premier Division win.

Two up at the break, Bray's third came to Don Tierney within 50 seconds of the restart when he scored with a dipping volley from 20 yards for the pick of the six.

Within a further minute, Tommy Gill's ball over the top found Jason Byrne and he did what his cousin, Robbie Keane, did at Lansdowne Road during the week, by lobbing Waterford keeper, Jody Byrne. Richie Parsons added the sixth nine minutes from the end.

Bray opened the scoring on 14 minutes when Byrne got on the end of Jody Lynch's through ball. Waterford fell further behind a minute before the break when Tierney laid the ball back for Tresson to score.
