Louth 4-12 Longford 0-5: LOUTH PROVED much too strong for Longford in the O'Byrne Cup quarter-final at Pearse Park with the home manager Glenn Ryan opting to field a very experimental team in the build up to the National League.

Adrian Reid and Shane Lennon found the back of the net before Longford got their opening score in the 13th minute when Francis McGee fired over a free.

The home county trailed by 2-5 to 0-5 at the break and failed to register a solitary score in the second half whereas Louth added a further 2-7 to their tally .
