Kildare 3-22 Waterford 0-6 It was all too easy for Kildare footballers as they maintained their 100 per cent league record at Walsh Park yesterday. In handing out a 25-point hammering to Waterford, they clinched both promotion and a semi-final spot.

The winners were in a different class.

With corner forward's Padraig Brennan and John Doyle in scintillating form (they scored 2-16 between them), it was virtually all one-way traffic towards the Waterford goal.

Doyle blasted his goal after 10 minutes and Brennan struck a minute from the interval after a stylish passing movement from midfield.

That left it 2-9 to 0-2 at the break and although the home side was aided by the strong wind in the second half, it made little difference.

Substitute Ciaran Dempsey put the icing on the cake with Kildare's third goal five minutes from time.
