WOMEN'S FOOTBALL:KERRY TOPPED the Division One A standings without kicking a ball at the weekend as they received a walkover from Wexford who were already relegated after only one season in the top flight.
The Munster side will be hoping to avenge last year's semi-final loss to Galway as, once again, it will be the Connacht side who provide the opposition in next month's semi-finals. Galway booked their spot after seeing off Kildare yesterday in Celbridge by 4-12 to just four points.
In the other section, reigning All-Ireland champions Cork beat Monaghan 3-16 to 0-5 in Aughnamullen on Saturday to secure top spot in Division One B.
The visitors never looked in trouble as they settled early on with a goal from Deirdre O'Reilly in the ninth minute to open up a 1-9 to 0-4 interval lead.
Monaghan simply had no answer to Cork's firepower and goals from Amanda Murphy and Valerie Mulcahy, who finished with 1-6, set Cork on their way to a semi-final date.
Their semi-final opponents won't be known until next weekend as Armagh and Tyrone played out a 2-7 to 1-10 draw.
Aileen Matthews pounced for the first two goals of the game before Gemma Begley replied for Tyrone as the sides went to the break all square at 2-2 to 1-5.
Waterford will be looking for a quick return to the top flight as they were held by Sligo in Dungarvan.
Michelle Ryan kicked three points to help give Waterford a 0-7 to 0-4 half-time lead. Sligo fought back, however, to level it at nine points apiece at the game's end.
Waterford now face Donegal who saw off Tipperary to book their spot.
Down and Clare will contest the other semi-final.
Tipperary and Longford now will square off in the relegation play-off to decide who drops down with Leitrim to the bottom flight.
In Divison Three it'll be Roscommon against Limerick and Derry will meet Cavan.
