Ireland is to host the inaugural Women's World Cup of Golf. The event is scheduled to takes place at Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Club in Limerick later this year.
Announcing details, the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Dr James McDaid, said that arrangements for this prestigious event are being negotiated between the European Ladies Tour, Bord Failte and Adare Manor.
"Securing this new major event in the world golfing calendar is further indication of Ireland's increasing status as an international golfing centre. It is an example in practical terms of how the promotion of high profile sporting events and our tourism interests coincide," said McDaid.
