UEFA Regions CupRepublic of Ireland 4 England 2 The Ireland Amateur International team continued their winning ways in the UEFA Regions Cup in Bosnia Herzegovina yesterday afternoon when they defeated England in their second game of the qualifying series.

Gerry Smith's men continued where they left off against San Marino on Monday when they won 4-0 as centre forward Ian Callaghan fired them ahead on 18 minutes. Centre back James Walsh increased the lead just on the stroke of half-time. Both players also scored in Monday's opening game.

England fought back and it was no surprise when they drew level within 10 minutes of the restart through Neil Critchley and Kevin Towey. Ireland had to withstand some severe pressure before the siege was lifted by James Walsh with his second goal and Ireland's third in the 72nd minute. Ireland sealed victory when substitute Rory Beechiner fired home in the first of the three minutes of added time.

Following Monday's games Bosnia had six inches of snow but it thawed sufficiently to allow Ireland to claim their victory.
