PETER CANAVANhas stepped down as Errigal Ciaran manager after three years.

Tyrone’s six-time All-Star and double All-Ireland winner had already informed his players that he would not be returning for a fourth term in charge of his home-town club.

And Errigal’s finish came to an end at the weekend when they lost the Division One league semi-final by 0-12 to 0-9 to Carrickmore.

Under Canavan’s watch, Errigal Ciaran won two Division One titles, but failed to win a championship title.
