Tadgh Kennelly, the Irish International Rules and Kerry player, was at the centre of an injury scare in Saturday night's intermediate football championship semi-final at the Austin Stack Park, Tralee.

Kennelly, assisting Listowel Emmet's against Milltown/Castlemaine, was taken off after falling awkwardly in a tussle for possession.

Kennelly was taken to Tralee General Hospital as a precaution. It was confirmed yesterday he had damaged ankle ligaments and it is not yet clear if he will be available for the International Rules series.

In the end, Emmet's just about deserved their 0-13 to 1-9 victory, and their final date with Dingle.
