Holders Sligo to face Monaghan

Sligo Rovers will start the defence of the Ford-sponsored FAI Cup with a home game against Monaghan United while Shelbourne will head to the Carlisle Grounds for the only other all-Premier Division clash of the second round.

Shamrock Rovers will host a Limerick side with a few connections to the Tallaght club.

There were also two all non-league clashes drawn last night along with a few big local derbies.

Cork’s Avondale United face the longest trek of the lot when they travel to face to Kildrum Tigers in Lifford, Co Donegal.
