FEILE NA nGAEL:O'LOUGHLIN GAELS from Kilkenny claimed their first Féile na nGael Division One title when they defeated Limerick side Na Piarsaigh 3-7 to 0-4 at Pearse Stadium in Galway yesterday. Captain Robert Buckley hit his side's first goal in the third minute. Another free from the full forward gave the Kilkenny side a six-point lead, before points from Peter Casey, Jerry McCabe and Jason O'Callaghan brought Na Piarsaigh within a goal at the break.

After the restart, Cian Loy struck a terrific goal to increase the lead to six points. Victory was sealed late on when sub Seán Kiely fired past Eoghan Foley.

Westmeath side Raharney had a stand-out display from Killian Doyle in their 4-9 to 1-3 win over Portlaoise in the Division Two decider. Doyle hit 4-6.

The Division Three title went to Meath side Kiltale, who beat Carlow’s Muinebheag by 8-7 to 1-2.

Galway’s Pádraig Pearses defeated county rivals Abbeyknockmoy in the Division Four final by 3-4 to 2-5. Keith Connell hit a first-half hat-trick.

The Division Five hurling title went to Mountbellew/Moylough after they overcame Naomh Eoin from Sligo by 3-5 to 1-5. And the in the Division Six final Sylane brought the Galway haul to three titles when they beat Roscommon’s Pádraig Pearses 3-1 to 0-6.
