Dublin’s Philly McMahon returns for final clash with Mayo

Manager Jim Gavin makes just one change to his side ahead of Sunday’s showdown

Dublin manager Jim Gavin has called on Philly McMahon to replace Kevin O’Brien at corner back for the All-Ireland football final against Mayo on Sunday.

It’s the only change to the side that beat Kerry in the semi-final, meaning Ger Brennan, who was taken off at halftime that day, retains his place at centre halfback.

Mayo are unchanged from their semi-final win over Tyrone with Cillian O’Conhaving passed a fitness test ahead Thursday’s team announcement after dislocating his shoulder against the Ulstermen.
