Dublin Under-21 footballers inflicted a humiliating 31-point defeat on a hapless Carlow side in this totally one-sided Cadbury's Leinster quarter-final at IT Carlow last night.

A total of 10 Dublin players shared in their huge tally as the visitors put Carlow to the sword.

Senior star Ciarán Kilkenny led the way , the Carlow defence unable to come to grips with the Dublin number 11, who finished with 0-6, five from play.

Dublin’s pace, fielding, combination and superior physicality blew Carlow away.

Picking off their points when playing into the first half wind and rain, they did much as they pleased.

Dublin led 1-12 to 0-2 at half-time and the second half saw the same one-sided fare.
