Jim Furyk carded a nine-under par 63 to grab the fourth round lead in the Las Vegas Invitational on Saturday. Furyk's 21-under par 267 left him three ahead of Mark Calcavecchia and four better than Scott Verplank.
Taking advantage of calm conditions, Furyk had a flawless day in which he carded nine birdies - five of them consecutively from the 12th. "This week so far has been different", said Furyk. "The putts have gone in."
Ireland's Richie Coughlan finished the tournament on a disappointing two under par total, falling away from a promising position after two rounds. Most of the damage was done in a third round of 75 which he followed with weekend rounds of 71 and 74.
