The champion jockey Kieren Fallon grabbed the honours at Bath thanks to a near 84 to 1 four-timer on Deal Fair, Carhue Lass, Heart and Rada's Daughter.

Henry Cecil's Deal Fair seemed to make heavy weather of landing odds of 8 to 11 in the Tattenham Corner Conditions Stakes on the sticky ground before getting the better of Culzean by a length-and-a-quarter.

Fallon said the winner was "a bit lazy", while London-based German owner Baron Georg von Ullmann reckoned Deal Fair would not be good enough to run in the German Derby even though that race maybe considered for the colt.

Carhue Lass became the first Irish trained winner at the hill-top course for many years when making all the running to lift the Listed EBF Lansdown Fillies Stake for trainer Patrick O'Leary.

The mare was smartly into her stride for Fallon and always in control, beating Inya Lake by three lengths.

O'Leary's son Gerard said: "This race has been the plan for the past six weeks and we're always going to jump out and make them go."

Heart has been in great form over hurdles this winter and transferred that good fortune to the level after she scorched away with the Tote Fillies' Showcase Handicap.

The six-year-old, backed from 4 to 1 to 5 to 2, was having her first outing for trainer Gerard Butler and had never won on the Flat before.

Owner Chris Brasher said: "She won four times over hurdles this winter but we were beginning to think she would have to run against something like Quixall Crossett to win a race on the flat."

Jockey Allan Mackay was fined £85 for failing to parade his mount Magical Dancer before the race.

Fallon had been strongly fancied to lift the Blathwayt Maiden Stakes on board Sarangani, but the pair had to settle for second spot behind Roger Charlton's highly-regarded Migration.

The Khalid Abdulla-owned colt is a 40 to 1 quote for the EpsomDerby with Coral after getting the better of Fallon's mount by a couple of lengths under Tim Sprake.

But Charlton quickly played down any talk of running in the Epsom showpiece and declared he would rather opt for a softly softly campaign for the colt.

"He holds a Derby entry but I don't think he'll go there but I will have to talk it over with his owner.

"He is now likely to step up to a mile and a half in a conditions race at Salisbury next month," said the trainer.

Roo, ridden by claimer Adrian Nicholls, easily lifted the Pensford Maiden Auction Stakes on her debut outing after she pulled four lengths clear of Mentiga.

Harvey's Future landed a mini gamble when backed from 12 to 1 to 9 to 1 in the Twerton Handicap by half-a-length from Present 'N Correct after responding gamely for rider Antonio Polli.
